With each blood pressure measurement, the BP monitor indicates your category. The AHA recognizes five categories: Normal, Elevated, Hypertension Stage 1, Hypertension Stage 2, Hypertensive Crisis. Aim to keep your BP in the normal category of a systolic pressure less than 120 and diastolic pressure less than 80.
